Chief Policy Analyst

  • Develop an understanding of what determines achievement and engagement in education by young New Zealanders
  • Lead important policy debates and frame key advice
  • Display a strategic approach to analysis, as well as planning and driving work programmes

You will be a leading advisor and thinker in the organisation and key to ensuring that advice is set in the context of the organisation’s priorities, and informed by a strategic view about what is important, and what works. You will be able to make connections across policy issues while ensuring that your advice covers long-term implications, as well as practical issues of implementation, timing, and feasibility.

Being able to persuade and enable colleagues to address policy problems and assess solutions that will make the most difference will be part of your daily practice.

In order to be considered for this role you will have:

  • Experience leading and developing policy advice
  • An ability to present ideas and persuade senior stakeholders
  • Excellent relationship management skills
  • The aptitude to provide a high degree of intellectual leadership to your colleagues
