Senior Analyst - Performance

  • Not your average performance analysis role
  • Requires practical senior quantitative analysis
  • Create monitoring systems to impact on key sector initiatives

If you're ready for a fresh challenge working on initiatives that will bring further evolution in the tertiary education sector, this opportunity is for you. This role is more than mere number crunching.

The Strategic Information and Evidence Directorate provides information and analysis about tertiary education needs. Their work influences policy and investment decisions made within the Tertiary Education Commission, but also requires you to work a diverse range of organisations in the wider education sector.

Working within a professional and collegial team you will be involved in the development of performance monitoring and reporting frameworks as well as responding to more urgent requests for information.

As a senior member of the team you will have the opportunity to use your well developed quantitative, communication and analytical skills to lead the development of performance indicators.

To do this you will consult with other experts and large numbers of external and internal people. You'll need to collect, analyse and interpret information, before translating your findings into well clear and analytical reports. Most importantly, you will need to be pragmatic in your outlook and have the flexibility to respond to tight timelines and changing demands.

To be a successful member of this small team of high performers you will have an open and approachable manner and enjoy coaching and mentoring more junior analysts. You will enjoy connecting with a wide range of professionals using your excellent communication skills and not be afraid to engage in robust intellectual debate.

On the technical side it will be an advantage if you are an experienced user of statistical packages and Excel and be able to translate technical information for diverse audiences.

And the attraction? You will be extended in new directions under supportive leadership that both encourages and calls for professional development from all team members - while becoming a respected subject matter expert.
